    The afternoon of Monday 9th June 2014 was a very auspicious occasion 3KV had a visit from St. Andrews School in Yetminster.

    A group of children from Yewstock were invited to Bovington Park on Tuesday 10th June for the 'Dorset Mash-Up Festival'.

  • Under 16 Rounders Challenge

    Under 16 Rounders Challenge was a great success.

  • Leeson House Residential Visit

    Class 5 and year 5 pupils in Mrs Tiley's class, recently went to Leeson House on a residential trip .  


    Following our recent Ofsted inspection on 5th and 6th June we have been judged outstanding in all areas!  We are delighted with the news and this is testament to a lot of hard work from everyone in our community.  We will celebrate our success with a street party on Tuesday 9th July.

  • A Midsummer Night's Dream


    MND 6In the last week before half term the secondary pupils performed A Midsummer Night’s Dream at The Exchange Theatre, Sturminster Newton.

  • Royal Albert Hall Singing

    Some students in our school choir went to the Royal Albert Hall.

  • Post 16 Residential

    Freshwater 1  Some of our Post 16 students went on a week’s residential.


  • Summer Holiday Club at Rylands Farm

    Future RootsWould your child/ren like to spend a day or several at Rylands Farm over the summer holidays.

  • U13 and U16 Cricket Festivals

    Cricket_1Two teams went to Cricket Festivals on the playing field of Milton Abbey School.

  • Summer Fun Days

    Team Dorset Athletics Network in partnership with Yewstock School are providing 3 family fun days for young people over the summer.  Different sports activities will be on offer to pupils and their families over the 3 sessions, including athletics and football.

  • 'My Place'

    This is a service specifically aimed at adults with Autism and Asperger's Syndrome.

    Michelle Willson and Clare Rogers are currently working within an Autism setting and are aware that there is a lack of specialist provision for young adults when they leave school or college.

    The Gillingham/Shaftesbury SEN Support Group and Coffee Morning is on Friday 29th June.

  • Jubilee Celebrations

    Jubilee_Celebrations_Street_Party_AOn Friday 1st June we held our Jubilee Celebrations.  Everyone, staff and students, wore some red, white and blue.

  • Scenes from Indonesia

    Plate_DancersKS3, KS4 and Post 16 students performed 'Scenes from Indonesia' in the school hall to Primary classes and parents and carers on the afternoons of Monday 28th and Tuesday 29th May.

  • Senior Athletics Meeting

    Athletics_150611_004Wednesday 15th June was the Senior Athletics Meeting at Kings Park Athletic Stadium, Bournemouth. It saw our school in competition with Beaucroft, Linwood, Westfield and Winchelsea schools.

  • Longleat 2011

    longleatcollageWe were very lucky again this year to be able to visit Longleat, courtesy of The Rotary Club of Shaftesbury.  We went on Wednesday 8th June and all travelled in 4 minibuses and 3 coaches. 

  • Primary Maths Day

  • Aiming High Beach Huts

    The first beach hut funded through the Aiming High programme is now
    available for rental on a daily basis from 16th May 2011. The Accessible Beach
    Hut (No.36) is a joint project between Lyme Regis Town Council, DCC
    Children’s Services and the Dorset Parent-Carer Council.

    The hut is located at the western end of the row of beach huts on the Cart
    Road, Marine Parade, Lyme Regis and overlooks the sandy beach and the
    harbour. The hut is equipped with a Hippocampe leisure wheelchair and will
    shortly have a changing platform, coin operated locker and two chairs.

    The hut is now available for advance bookings for the following:

    • Parents and carers of children who are disabled and who live in
    To ensure availability to a large number of local families each such applicant or
    family shall only be entitled to book the hut for a maximum of one day per
    fortnight during any school holiday period and for 2 days in any single week
    (Monday to Sunday) during the remainder of the year

    • Dorset groups or organisations for children who are disabled.
    For a total of 4 non consecutive days per quarter (April – June, July –Sept,
    Oct – Dec, Jan –March) with no more than one day in any single week
    (Monday to Sunday)

    • Dorset Special Schools can book the hut during Dorset school
    term time only.
    For a total of 4 non consecutive days per quarter (April – June, July –Sept,
    Oct – Dec, Jan –March) with no more than one day in any single week
    (Monday to Sunday)
