NHSE Family Carer Training Offer

Please see information below regarding a workshop for family carers, provided by The NHS England and NHS Improvement Learning Disability and Autism Programme:

Identifying early signs of worsening health in a person with a learning disability – specific training for family carers

The NHS England and NHS Improvement Learning Disability and Autism Programme is inviting family carers to take part in a workshop. The workshop is free and open to family carers looking after adults and children aged over 16.

The workshop uses RESTORE2 mini. This is a programme designed for carers to help to spot signs that someone they care for may be unwell and what to do next to get them help. The programme that is being used for this training has been made for people caring for people with a learning disability.

What you’ll learn
How to spot when someone is becoming unwellHow to use a simple communication tool called SBARD to let health professionals know that someone needs help.

How long is the training?
The training takes about 90 minutes

When is the training?
Every working day from Tuesday 23rd February to Friday 31st March 2021 at different times in the day. There are over 30 sessions for you to choose from. There are only so many places for each session so book early to get the one you want.
