Year 11 Adventure week and residential, day 4, Thursday 22nd June. The last day…

The students have been fantastic again, getting fully involved in all aspects and proving their worth with excellent cooperation and teamwork; developing effective communication to be successful.

A very busy day, starting with a full English breakfast at the accommodation, followed by students clearing up and cleaning as well as getting themselves ready for the day. We caught the bus to the National Sailing Academy for our final adventure activities, paddle boarding and raft building (and testing!), as well as some bonus fitness sessions with Mrs Ridge! And then lunch.

This was followed by an open top bus ride to Weymouth beach, where students enjoyed a lot of swimming and playing on the sand. We then went back to the accommodation for all to wash and change. We then went out for dinner and got a delicious meal from the Marlboro Restaurant and ate our dinner on the harbourside.

After this, we walked along the harbour and visited a 50m ship, which was a replica of the first to sail around the world, ‘El Galeon’.

We carried on walking along to the seafront to watch some beach sports and visited the Royal Arcade amusements, where students had lots of fun and we were generously given sweets for each student! Some students visited the car and motorbike exhibition along the seafront too. We then walked along the seafront and back to the accommodation for hot chocolate and to pack our things ready for the journey back to Yewstock in the morning.
