Careers Education Provision Award

Yewstock’s Assistant Headteacher and Careers Education Leader, Oliver Turner has been presented with an award from Dorset Careers Hub and Dorset Enterprise Partnership to recognise the outstanding Careers Education provision that Yewstock School offers.

Oliver Turner explains, “Careers Education is in everything we do at Yewstock. It permeates our whole curriculum and establishes a focus on challenging each student to progress and to broaden their horizons, creatively finding opportunities for ongoing personal development. It is everything the school does that improves outcomes for adulthood, including: learning about jobs, industry and study options; developing work & life skills; developing resilience, independence, motivation and self-belief; collaborating with parents and professionals; providing opportunities in addition to the curriculum, preparing for adulthood and everything else in between!”

The award was presented at The Dorset Careers Hub awards ceremony by Rebecca Philips, Strategic Lead for Dorset Careers Hub.

Oliver Turner comments, “It’s so gratifying to be categorised as a top tier school, not only across Dorset, but nationally too. All staff at Yewstock work hard to provide outstanding opportunities and to constantly improve our offer to ultimately create a school where students can achieve the success they deserve.”
