£141.40 raised for Macmillan cancer support

Yewstock has managed to raise £141.40 for Macmillan cancer support after taking part in the annual coffee morning event.

A big thank you to 4NH for all the help they have given while setting this up. Also another big thank you to everyone who donated cakes, they all looked very tasty. It was lovely to see so many people at the college enjoying coffee and cake.

Yewstock’s Got Talent!

We had a wonderful talent show on the afternoon of 20th July, with some really brilliant performances from our Secondary students. It’s amazing to see our pupils up on stage, showing such confidence and enjoyment. We are proud of all of them. Well done especially to our winners, Jack and Ben from Post 16, who will perform their act again at our end of year assembly next Wednesday.

Summer Fete

We held our Summer Fete on Friday 6th July on a meltingly hot afternoon. A big thank you to everyone who joined us. We raised a total of £629.85 for the Friends of Yewstock, and the money will go towards buying things for the pupils.

Sports day

We had a really enjoyable Sports day on Tuesday 3rd July. The weather was perfect - sunny with a bit of cloud and a breeze. Pupils moved around a carousel of 8 activities with their classes, including javelin throwing, ball skills, parachute games and races. We were joined by lots of parents and carers for the morning.

Primary ‘Kids Out’ to Longleat

On Wednesday 13th June the whole of our Primary department went to Longleat for the day, as part of the annual national 'Kids Out' day, which is funded and organised by the Rotary Club. The pupils had a super time and the weather was glorious. A big thank you to Shaftesbury Rotary for making this happen.

Celebrating our 40th anniversary

Yewstock School opened on 6th September 1977 with 108 pupils. We celebrated our 40th anniversary on Thursday 14th June with a party for our pupils, staff and parents, as well as anyone who has been associated with the school over the last 40 years. Below are some photographs of the school being built in the 70s, and some of the fantastic 70s-inspired costumes that our pupils and staff wore.
