Jess is our Independent Careers Advisor (ICA) and works through the Education Development Trust (EDT). Jess is very experienced and we are very pleased to have her support with something so crucial.

Throughout the year, Jess will be working with students in school Year 9 and above. Her main aim is:
To explore options and to find and secure the right education placement for students after they leave Yewstock. Helping students and parents/carers to navigate this process.

Jess will do this by:

  • Identifying colleges and further education options that match with individual student aspirations.
  • Helping parents/carers and students understand the process and requirements for applying for further education after Year 11 or Post 16.
  • Helping parents/carers understand the process of supporting young people who have additional care needs, following Yewstock.
  • Closely liaising with the school and other professionals to provide individual support.
  • Advising students and families in a supportive and professional way.

Jess will be working at Yewstock many Mondays throughout the year as well as P-Pod events. If you feel you need support from Jess, please contact the school office. Jess can offer telephone support, face to face meetings as well as being available at our P-Pod and parent evening events.
