Autumn first half-term 2019

The new school year has brought us new faces, new experiences and new opportunities in Post 16 at Yewstock. We have grown in number as well as in space…learning space! In addition to the awesome facilities at Yewstock College that we share with Key Stage 4, we now do some of our learning in our Community Classroom. This is located at Stour Connect not far from the school. We have been linking with Stour Connect for years. This is where we have been practising some of our Life Skills every Thursday morning for six years in The DEC. We have also been taking part in work experience in the day centre there.

We still enjoy using the facilities at the college and participate in many important lessons and activities we have enjoyed over the years. In order to expand our offer, we have been aiming to set up a Community Classroom for a while and were lucky enough to be offered a space by Stour Connect! This classroom allows us to take the next step in preparing for adulthood. It gives us an opportunity to transfer our skills outside the classroom, build confidence, social skills and communication. We also get the chance to regularly interact with the local community and employers. Please join us for our Community Classroom Open Morning on Wednesday 6th November 2019 from 10:00-11:30! Thank you for your continued support. Check out what we’ve been up to…
