Parents Newsletter 23/10/20

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you – I just wanted to write to you and say thank you for all your support this term. It has been very challenging to find a way through all the different guidance that comes to us and interpret in the best and safest way for our school, children, and families.
You have all been very supportive in not sending children in with coughs and colds and this has really helped us manage our classes safely.

Bubble working – We have settled into bubble working well with Teachers and TAs working with children all through the day. I think we will be keeping these arrangements well into next term, but we have been able to ensure that all children are receiving the support they need from OT, speech and language therapy , Physiotherapy and our school counselor. We have also been able to access Hydrotherapy for children who have it as part of their EHC plan.
I am very much hoping to avoid further lockdown, but if we do, we will continue to support all pupils with home learning activities.
Next half term, we will enter the usual cold and flu season. I will monitor staffing levels carefully to make sure we have safe staffing for all classes, and I will be in touch with parents and carers if there is any concern here.  Of course, we will respond immediately if there is any positive case of Covid-19 in staff or pupils.

Hello Yello / Jeans for Jeans – We have been able to have some lovely events in classes even though we have been working in bubbles. Hello Yellow Day raised over £300 and we hope to have raised a similar sum on Jeans for Jeans Day. Lots of classes have enjoyed learning outdoors and we hope to make the most of this whilst the weather is good.

School Lunches – Please remember we will be offering children on school site (Primary and Key Stage Three) hot lunches when we return. College student will continue to have a packed lunch until we can relook at the risk assessment.

Have a great week, we look forward to the new half term and we will be thinking of the best ways to celebrate Christmas in our bubbles when we return, it will come soon!
best wishes

Clive Padgett
