Students in year 10 and year 11 took part in a fantastic day focusing on different routes into work. There was a particular focus on apprenticeship routes, which would be a good option for our students once they have achieved their Level 1 qualifications at college.
Joanne Small, from ASK Apprenticeships, led the workshops for the day and commented on how engaged and focused all the students were.
In the afternoon, the focus was on interview skills. During this, all year 11 students completed a practice interview with Sam Hart, Yewstock’s Enterprise Advisor and Mark Hughes, a local business leader as well as Yewstock Governor. Feedback from them was brilliant with areas for development for all individuals.
Well done and thanks to all the students and staff involved.
